Après un premier tour bien négocié face à Nicolas Almagro, Jo‐Wilfried Tsonga a confirmé a tour suivant face à l’Espagnol Pere Riba. Le Français l’a emporté en deux sets 6–4, 6–2 en 1h20. Jo affrontera en huitièmes de finale Robin Soderling si celui‐ci se défait de Santiago Giraldo.
