Mal engagé dans son premier tour de Roland Garros, Jeremy Chardy a su inverser la tendance face à un tenace Michael Berrer. Le Palois s’est imposé 4–6 6–3 6–4 6–4, et accède au second tour. L’opposition montera alors d’un cran, puisqu’il fera face à Isner ou Seppi. Un véritable test dans les deux cas !
